Scottish Screen is the national development agency for the screen industries in Scotland. They aim to inspire audiences, support new and existing talent and businesses, educate young people, and promote Scotland as a creative place to make great films, award-winning television and world renowned digital entertainment. The Palme-Dewar team are very grateful for the financial and general support of Scottish Screen in this short film competition. Dewar’s World of Whisky is Dewar’s working Distillery and Brand Centre in Aberfeldy, Scotland. A tour of Dewar’s World of Whisky includes a visit to the Brand Centre, the Distillery and the Warehouse, as well as whisky tasting for adults. This is a great day out for all of the family. The Palme-Dewar team would like to thank Dewar’s World of Whisky for their ongoing support, making this competition something really special.

The Heartland Film Society committee members are the brains behind Palme-Dewar competition. The Society was formed in 2001 to enable the showing of films on a big screen in an informal and friendly atmosphere in Aberfeldy, Scotland. Films are normally on the first Thursday and Friday of each month, between September and June. The Society also organises a film festival each year, of which the Palme-Dewar is a big part.

Barhaul is a building supplies, plant hire and haulage company based in Aberfeldy, Scotland. The Palme-Dewar team would like to thank Barhaul for their contribution towards the Palme-Dewar cash prize.


The British Federation of Film Societies is the national agency for the development and support of the film society and community cinema movement in the UK. They offer a wide range of services and resources dedicated to the needs of community cinemas.


BFFS Scotland is Scotland’s arm of the British Federation of Film Societies.


HI-Arts (Highlands and Islands Arts Ltd) is the arts and cultural development agency for the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Hi-Arts aim to enable the Highlands and Islands to be considered the most creatively exciting area of Scotland.


Pitlochry Festival Theatre is an exceptional theatre in Pitlochry (a short drive from Aberfeldy). Their 2009 summer season will consist of six productions that offer superb entertainment and the familiar Festival Theatre trademarks: fantastic costumes, beautifully realised sets and thrilling performances from their talented acting company.
