Registration for the 2018 Palme-Dewar short film competition is closed

The finals and awards of the Palme-Dewar short film competition is an integral part of the annual Aberfeldy Film Festival in Highland Perthshire.  The 2018 film festival takes place over the weekend of 16-18th November.

The 2017 Palme-Dewar competition attracted a wide range of film entries. Three out of the five short-listed films screened at the Palme-Dewar finals event were represented in person by the film-makers or their leading actors. It was very good to welcome all of them to the festival and a great opportunity to broadcast their excellent short films to a wider audience.

  • Closing date for registration, accompanied by a £10 fee per film - Friday 28th September 2018

Competition Details
  • Films may be submitted by post or online.

Competition Criteria
  • All film entries must be no more than 10 minutes long and made between 2016 and 2018.
  • Film entries must be made on a Scottish theme or by film-makers based in Scotland. 
  • All film genres are accepted, including comedy, drama, documentary and animation.
  • Please note that the event audience may include young people under the age of 18.

  • Each of the winning film-makers will be invited to show their films at a later date in the award-winning Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy.
