Registration for the 2020 Palme-Dewar short film competition is open



2020 Competition Dates
  • Closing date for registration, accompanied by a £25 fee per film - Friday 18th September 2020
  • Closing date for submission of film entries -                               
          Friday 9th October 2020
  • Competition finals and awards at Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery -Saturday 7th November 2020

Competition Criteria
  • Film entries must meet at least one of these criteria                              -  film made in Scotland                                                                          -  film made by film-makers based in Scotland                                      -  film made on a Scottish theme
  • All film entries must be no more than 10 minutes long and            made between 2018 and 2020
  • All film genres are accepted, including comedy, drama,      documentary and animation
  • Please note that the event audience may include young people   under the age of 18

Competition Registration and Film Screening
  • By registering and submitting film(s) to the competition, you confirm that you have the right to do so and that copyright has been acquired as appropriate for all film content.
  • Heartland Film Society confirms that submitted film(s) are not screened out-with the competition event, except by prior arrangement with the film-maker(s).
  • Short-listed films are provided to Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery for screening at the competition event.
  • Short-listed film-makers are invited to attend the competition event.

Competition Prizes

  • Winning film-makers are invited to show their film at a later date in the award-winning Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy.
